Because it's spamming the interface to create a new tab/collapsable area for each command. For each ls, ssh, gulp,  etc.?

I would have 100 tabs within the first hour of my work day. Unacceptable and completely unnecessary.  It's bad enough that I have 100 open tabs in my browser at the end of the workday.

tmux allows you to create as many panes as you want, hide and show them as you go, without the need to touch the mouse.

I think the majority of use cases for the terminal do not need a new pane/tab for each command, as you go. And what's dystopian about SSH and remote controlled computers?
